The Annual Performance Report (APR) is a mandatory annual filing for every Indian resident who holds Overseas Direct Investment in a foreign entity — for example, a US company you set up or invested in under the ODI route.
It is filed through your authorised dealer bank, generally by 31 December each year, based on the foreign entity's audited financial statements. Missing APRs are treated seriously: they block further remittances under the same ODI, attract late submission fees, and surface immediately in any due diligence on your cross-border structure.
If you hold a US entity and have never filed an APR, regularise it now — the compounding process is far cheaper and cleaner when initiated voluntarily.
